Wedding stationary – it’s all in the detail

So, the question has been popped, the date has been set, best friends have been told and now begins the planning! Your wedding is probably the biggest event you will ever organise and you may find yourself getting more than a little stressed from time to time, particularly if you leave things to the very last minute. This can sometimes mean that details like wedding stationary get relegated to the bottom of the to-do list, and you may find yourself quickly rushing to the local newsagent to buy something off the shelf. Not ideal!

Your wedding stationary should really get the attention it deserves as it sets the tone for your whole wedding and gives people an idea of the sort of event you are planning. Lots of people nowadays opt for personalised wedding stationary that reflects their personalities and allows them to be as colourful and flamboyant as they like. Personalised wedding stationary can be designed to your specific brief and will really set the tone for your special day.

The first thing to think about is whether or not you’re going to have a theme to your wedding. Themes can be anything from fairytale, to black tie, to winter wonderland - particularly appropriate if you’re getting married in Edinburgh or anywhere else in Scotland during the winter. If you decide on a themed wedding then your wedding stationary can be designed accordingly and will really give you scope to have lots of fun coming up with ideas. And don’t forget, the invitations are just the start – wedding stationary also includes things like directions and details of the venue, seating plan, name tags, the order of service itself and of course the all important thank you cards that you will send out when the celebrating is over.

If you are on a tight budget for your wedding and don’t have a huge amount to splash out on your wedding stationary, remember that simple designs and colours can look just as stylish and smart. The type of paper stock you choose will also have a bearing on the cost, so if you need to save money, ask your designer if you could see some samples of mid-weight papers rather than heavier stock which will be pricey. Bear in mind also that if you print your wedding stationary in two colours instead of four it will cost less.

Have fun, let your imagination run free whatever your budget and you and your designer will come up with wedding stationary that’s totally unique to you and your wedding.
